My name is Nayelin Menendez, and I am proud to volunteer with Think Big for Kids because of what they stand for and the genuine care that is demonstrated from the founder of Think Big for Kids to the volunteers. Think Big has a vision to help youth, who were not born with the same privileges as others, but deserve it just as much. It is an honor to be a part of something bigger than myself that has a mission to inspire, educate, and provide resources to youth from underprivileged communities and motivate them to strive to achieve their highest potential. For me, being a part of this step for change is powerful because I can relate to the youth that we work with. Think Big gives these students resources they need and opens their eyes to opportunities they didn’t know existed. I learned about Think Big for Kids while at my current job as a Financial Consultant at Truist…a position I dreamt of for many years and just like these students, I had never met anyone in a similar role that looked like me or grew up in my community. I am truly honored to be able to stand in front of these young students and tell them, “If I can do it, you can do it and you can do it better.” TBFK really cares about the youth in our underprivileged communities and sees them for who they are and not what they don’t have. Thank you, Think Big, for allowing me to be a part of your vision.
