What is the True North Society?

The True North Society is a group of young professionals supporting Think Big’s mission to empower the next generation of youth. They are passionate and focused entrepreneurs, leaders, academics and creatives volunteering their time to provide a compass that elevates kids to find their purpose.

True North Society members participate in all three Think Big programming pillars as career showcase hosts, mentors and workshop leaders. In addition to hosting a variety of networking and volunteer events for young professionals, the group’s signature annual event, Chips for Charity, raises funds for the True North Society Passion Scholarship.

True North Hosts Inaugural Pickleball Social

True North volunteers gathered for a fun-filled morning hitting the courts, learning new skills in Pickleball 101, and reconnecting with fellow supporters. Guests also heard an inspiring story from scholarship recipient Jazmin and enjoyed a delicious brunch catered by Uptown Eats. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the event such a success!

2025 Chips for Charity Event a Success!

The True North Society, Think Big’s group for young professionals, hosted its second annual Chips for Charity fundraiser on March 7th at the beautiful Hyde House Public Studio in Tampa. Over 150 supporters enjoyed an evening of casino game tables, a silent auction, live entertainment, and great food and drinks – all benefiting the True North Passion Scholarship. Proceeds from the event totaled $80,000 and will fund 16 scholarships for the 2024-25 academic year!

True North Society Passion Scholarship

Our Passion Scholarship opportunity offers students financial support of up to $5,000 towards their education at the trade school, community college or university of their choice. Students are selected based on their demonstration of integrity, perseverance, and passion for their career choice.
