Think Big works closely with our donors and partner organizations to create multiple scholarships for graduating high school students. The application window for scholarship applications typically runs from early November to mid-January each year.

Think Big Expect More Scholarship
The Think Big Expect More Scholarship provides financial assistance to students pursuing post-high school education at a community college, trade school, or university. This scholarship aims to encourage students to pursue their career goals and is awarded to those demonstrating integrity, determination, and passion. It supports students in completing their training, certification, or degree at their chosen institution.
Think Big SME Technical Trades Scholarship
Awarded in conjunction with the SME Foundation, the Think Big SME Technical Trades Scholarship is a scholarship that helps students obtain the education and training they need to begin a career in a technical trade, such as carpentry, masonry, welding, electrical work, and power plant services. The scholarship provides financial support for technical training through Hillsborough Community College, St. Pete College, Erwin Technical College, or other institution.
Think Big Perseverance Scholarship
The Think Big Perseverance Scholarship provides financial assistance to students attending a two-year community college program with plans to transfer to a university for a bachelor’s degree. Awarded to those demonstrating determination, persistence, and passion, this scholarship covers tuition costs for the final two years at an in-state university.
Think Big JDP Electric Apprenticeship & Job Opportunity
The JDP Electric Apprenticeship & Job Opportunity helps students become licensed Journeyman electricians. After graduation, the student receives a full-time job at JDP for a year to gain experience. They earn an hourly wage plus overtime. After a year, the student begins a four-year trade school program, with JDP covering all academic expenses. During this time, they work at JDP, receiving necessary training for the certification exam. Upon passing the exam, they become certified Journeyman electricians, joining the JDP team with a starting salary of $47,000 – $50,000 annually.
Paul F. Alley Sr. Law Enforcement Scholarship
The Think Big Law Enforcement Scholarship provides financial assistance to students pursuing a career in law enforcement. It is awarded to those showing passion, empathy, stewardship, and community commitment. The scholarship supports students accepted into community college or university law enforcement programs, covering tuition, uniforms, and other school expenses.
Think Business Scholarship

True North Society’s Passion Scholarship
The True North Society’s Passion Scholarship supports high school seniors graduating in 2023 who plan to continue their education at a trade program, community college, or university. Open to all seniors, it provides financial assistance based on integrity, perseverance, and passion for their chosen career.

The Think Big Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship, established by College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving®, supports students demonstrating professionalism, leadership, kindness, and enthusiasm. It offers financial support and mentorship for education at a community college, trade school, or university.
