Missy Hurley is CEO of B2 Communications, a public relations firm that she co-founded in 2010 and continues to run today.
At B2, she counsels organizations on communications strategies that achieve their business goals and collaborates with corporate communications teams to implement effective public relations tactics. In addition, she leads the agency’s internship program and facilitates professional growth for her team members.
As part of this work, she’s trained hundreds of corporate executives and nonprofit leaders on maximizing media opportunities and completing effective interviews. More recently, she has led workshops and trainings on ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI) in communications.
Missy is accredited in public relations, and she’s received a number of industry awards. She was honored with the University of Tampa Alumni Association’s Alumni Achievement Award in 2017 for her business achievements and community involvement. In 2024, she was selected for Tampa Bay Business & Wealth’s Women Who Win Awards.
She’s been involved with community organizations and industry associations throughout her career. Previously, she served on the Board of Directors for the American Institute of Architects Tampa Bay chapter, and was a member of American Heart Association’s Circle of Red. She’s also served on the Executive Committee for one of PRSA’s national sections, the Counselors Academy section, which provides resources for agency leaders. She served as president of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Tampa Bay in 2011, after many years serving the chapter in volunteer roles.
