Think Big Expect More Scholarship

The Think Big Expect More Scholarship was established to offer financial assistance to a student who plans to further their education post-high school graduation at another educational institution. This includes attending a community college, trade school or university for a certification, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree. We hope to encourage students to think big and expect more by pursuing education and training to meet their career goals and will award this scholarship to a student that demonstrates the core values of integrity, determination, and passion. The Think Big Expect More Scholarship opportunity offers students financial support to work towards completing their training, certification, or degree at a school of their choice.

Think Big SME Technical Trades Scholarship

Awarded in conjunction with the SME Foundation, the Think Big SME Technical Trades Scholarship is a scholarship that helps students obtain the education and training they need to begin a career in a technical trade, such as carpentry, masonry, welding, electrical work, and power plant services. The scholarship provides financial support for technical training through Hillsborough Community College, St. Pete College, Erwin Technical College, or other institution.

Think Big Perseverance Scholarship

The Think Big Perseverance Scholarship was established to offer financial assistance to students who plan to attend a two-year community college program and then transfer to complete their bachelor’s degree at a university. The Think Big Perseverance Scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates their character through determination, persistence, and passion. This scholarship will provide support for students who have been accepted into a two-year community college program and intend to transfer to a university to complete a bachelor’s degree after their two years are complete. Upon completion of the two-year community college program, the Think Big Perseverance Scholarship will cover the cost of tuition for the remaining two years, equivalent to full-time student credit hours, at an in-state university.

Think Big JDP Electric Apprenticeship & Job Opportunity

The JDP Electric Apprenticeship & Job Opportunity was established to help a student begin their career path of becoming licensed Journeyman electricians. After graduation, the qualifying student will be offered a full-time job at JDP for the first year to gain experience and exposure to the field of electrical work. An hourly wage plus overtime at time and a half will be offered. Upon successfully completing one year as an Electrician’s Helper, the student will begin a four-year trade school program and will attend class two nights per week. JDP will cover all academic expenses as part of the apprenticeship. During this time, the student will continue to work for JDP and receive the required OJT (on-the-job-training) skills, training, and supervision needed for the certification exam. After passing their exams the student will receive their Journeyman electrician certification and will join the JDP Electric team with the ability to manage their own jobs and earn an approximate starting salary of $47,000 – $50,000 annually.

Law Enforcement Scholarship

The Think Big Law Enforcement Scholarship was established to offer financial assistance to a student who plans to pursue a career in law enforcement. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who shows passion for becoming a police officer, a deputy, or deputy sheriff. This student must show interest in law enforcement, empathy, stewardship, and commitment to the community. The scholarship will provide support for students who have been accepted into a post-secondary education institution, either community college or university, to pursue courses towards a law enforcement career. The scholarship will go towards the cost of tuition, uniforms, and other school expenses.

The Think Business Scholarship was established by Sheryl Hunter – The Entrepreneur’s Attorney – to support the dreams of students who aspire to own a business or to become a business attorney. This scholarship will be awarded to high school or college students who have demonstrated a thirst to learn about how companies start, grow and impact communities, and what it takes to make a business successful. The Think Business Scholarship will provide financial support for students who plan to attend either community college, university or a graduate program pursuing courses towards a business or law degree.

True North Society’s Passion Scholarship

This scholarship will provide support for students who plan to pursue their passion through post-secondary education. Students will continue their education post-high school graduation at their choice of another educational institution including trade and certificate programs, community college, or university. The True North Society’s Passion Scholarship opportunity offers students financial support to work towards completing their education at the school of their choice. The True North Society’s Passion Scholarship is open to all high school seniors graduating in 2023. Students will be selected based on their demonstration of integrity, perseverance, and passion for their career of choice.

The Think Big Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship, established by College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving® provides support to students that demonstrate the core values of professionalism, leadership, kindness, and enthusiasm.  The Think Big Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship opportunity offers students financial support and mentorship at a school of their choice, including community college, trade school or university for their training, certification, or degree.
