Think Big Expands Program to New Jersey!
Earlier this year, a longtime supporter of Think Big for Kids approached us to expand our program into New Jersey and reach more kids in need. Through our partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America we were introduced to multiple Clubs around cities in New Jersey. We successfully identified four Clubs that will benefit from Think Big programming beginning this Fall.
Our Advisory Board Chair, Jim Bowman, led the efforts to establish a group of 12 volunteers to serve on the Board and spearhead efforts. “Having seen the tremendous success of TBFK in Florida, and my family’s desire to both help underserved kids and promote entrepreneurial activities, it was obvious that expanding TBFK into New Jersey was a perfect fit,” said Jim. The initial Board meeting was held in January and the momentum has been running strong since.
The Board has recruited seven Partner Companies so far that will participate in Career Showcases, skill building workshops and develop the Mentoring Program. The community is coming together to join in volunteering and helping kids with a program that has proven results.
“As the lead sponsor, I am working with a great group of friends and business associates to build our team of partner companies, mentors, and internship sponsors,” Jim shared, “Our family is privileged to provide the initial funding for this effort, and we look forward to making a positive impact on the Boys and Girls Clubs youth through Think Big for Kids.” Look for updates this Fall on the program launch!
