Production with a Purpose
A Summer Camp Co-Presented by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, Think Big for Kids and WEDU
A partnership was formed between the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, Think Big for Kids and WEDU this Summer to produce and host an 8-week long production camp for the kids. The goal was two-fold: learn all about studio production and digital technologies while focusing all the content on career paths the students are interested in pursuing. A group of 15 junior and senior students from various Tampa Bay high schools participated in the camp. The kids were thoroughly engaged in the production elements, learned interviewing skills and how to edit video, among numerous other activities. Each of the Think Big partner companies had the opportunity to be interviewed by the kids as part of a final production piece for their project.
