Partnership with University Area CDC
Think Big for Kids is proud to expand our partnership with the University Area CDC to reach and serve more kids with our Career Exploration programming. We introduced the middle school students to Think Big through providing skill-building workshops and career showcases. Our goal is to help these kids discover their potential and find a career path they can be passionate about to change their futures.
Through our workshops and showcases, kids have expressed interest in nursing, law enforcement, construction and more. They are relating their interests to jobs they want to learn more about. We love seeing that light bulb go off in their heads during a career showcase when our kids learn something new. For our rising eighth graders, we are working on pairing them with mentors to continue their Think Big journey in the mentoring program and make the transition into high school.
Think Big is encouraging kids to explore and find a career that they may have never considered was possible. We are humbled by our UACDC kids, and truly enjoy seeing them each month, watching their excitement as they learn, hearing their questions, and seeing that ah-ha moment.
