Big Thoughts

Mentoring Program Milestones

Think Big for Kids Mentorship Program is busy pairing students with mentors!  In January of 2020 we matched nearly a dozen high school students at The Boys & Girls Club at Town N’ Country with a mentor in the career field they are interested in exploring.   Approximately 25 additional students at area Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay will be paired during the Spring semester, thanks to the generous support of our dedicated volunteer mentors.  The Think Big for Kids Mentorship Program exists to match high school students with a professional mentor to serve as a role model, help students explore career options and develop a plan to acquire the skills needed to meet and exceed their career goals.   Our first group of mentors come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences including companies such as ConnectWise, A-LIGN, Tampa General Hospital, ReliaQuest, Haneke Design, Merill Lynch and DXC Technology.

We already have over 75 volunteers signed up to be mentors and are excited to expand the Mentorship Program to other Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay in August before the start of the Fall school semester.    If you are interested in becoming a mentor to a high school student please email our Director of Programs at  Jaclyn.mccormick@thinkbigforkids.org.

Mentor, Heather, and her mentee pose for a picture after their first meeting. Audra works at Tampa General Hospital and her mentee is exploring careers in the medical field.

ReliaQuest mentor, John, and his mentee just finished their first meeting.  His mentee is undecided about her career path so they are making plans to explore different career options aligned to her strengths and interests.
