Mentoring Program Committee Member

Michael is an experienced management and information technology consultant and business advisor. He started his career in the consulting practice at Arthur Andersen (Andersen Consulting) and is a former Regional Managing Partner and Global Leadership Team member at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting. Michael was a licensed CPA. After 25 years at Andersen, Michael spent 14 years in Hitachi’s global technology business and had Board and CEO positions at Hitachi Consulting, Hitachi IT Global Holding Company and Hitachi Solutions America. Michael has experience providing top tier consulting services to leading global companies, leveraging technology for competitive advantage, using M&A to accelerate business growth, leading fast-growing/high performing businesses, serving on Boards, and being an advisor to business executives.

Over the years Michael has also engaged with leading higher education institutions as an Advisory Board member (University of Texas, SMU, USC) and has taught information technology classes in the business schools at the University of Texas, Chapman University, Wake Forest University, and the University of South Florida. His classes have included Management Information Systems, Information Technology Management (graduate), Business Applications Development (C# program development) and Managing Information Resources, the capstone course for the Business Analytics degree program at USF. He has also taught “How Information Technology Affects Our Lives” to adults at the Ringling Lifelong Learning Institute.

In the Tampa-Sarasota area, Michael has volunteered as a school tutor and coach for Tampa Boys and Girls Clubs and annually volunteers for Day4Hope, a program that assists local families and children in preparation for each new school year.

Michael and his wife, Laura, have three wonderful adult sons in the twenties with careers in business, medicine, and engineering. Michael and Laura reside in Sarasota, Florida and enjoy tennis, boating, and spending time with great friends!
